Steelheads sign CHL Import Draft pick Martin Vaculik
BRAMPTON, ON – Brampton Steelheads announced today that 2024 CHL Import Draft first round pick Martin Vaculik, has committed to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the club.
“We are excited to see Martin in a Steelheads jersey,” said James Richmond, the Steelheads Head Coach and General Manager. “He plays a fast and hard 200 foot game which will fit very nicely into our lineup. Our European scout Brian Inachak loves Martin’s game. Players I’ve spoken with have said he’s very hard to play against. We think Martin is going to be a very nice addition to our team.”
Vaculik, a forward from Zlin, Czechia, played for Berani Zlin (CZE) U20 registering 48 points (19G, 29A) in 54 games. He has represented Czechia internationally on multiple occasions including at the U17 and U18 level. Across all international play representing Czechia this past season, Vaculik recorded four points (2G, 2A) in 21 games.
A late 2006-born player, Vaculik is eligible for the 2025 NHL Draft.
