Kingston’s “United Front” initiative kicks off with a $20,000 cheque presentation
For many years, the Kingston Frontenacs have worked with local organizations to help strengthen the Kingston Community. We share the vision that these organizations have, to help those in need, support those that are struggling, and make Kingston a stronger community.
Scotiabank has been a longtime supporter of the Kingston Frontenacs on and off the ice. They share the same visions as we do and continuously find ways to help those in Kingston and the surrounding area. Scotiabank employees spend hundreds of hours each year volunteering and fundraising to support local organizations, much like they are tonight.
United Way KFL&A is an organization that works closely with community partners to ensure that people have the opportunity to reach their full potential and live with hope, dignity, and a sense of belonging. In 2022, over 54,000 individuals were helped locally through a United Way funded agency or program. Frontline agencies provided − and continue to provide − essential services for food, shelter, mental health, and other vitally important basic needs.
For 2023, United Way KFL&A set a campaign goal of $3,820,000 to continue supporting community programs and agencies. As of September 28, they are at 33% of their goal.
On Friday, the Kingston Frontenacs, Scotiabank, and United Way KFL&A proudly dropped the puck on their “United Front” initiative. This initiative will focus on assisting United Way KFL&A in reaching their 2023 fundraising goal. To start off the partnership with a hat trick, Scotiabank and the Kingston Frontenacs were pleased to present cheques totaling $20,000.00 to the United Way KFL&A at ice level.
Presenting the United Way KFL&A Board Chair Antje McNeely and 2023 United Way Campaign Chair and Base Commander of CFB Kingston Colonel Sonny Hatton with the check was District Vice President Ontario Central East Chris Skinner and Assistant Branch Manager Kingston Financial Centre Megs Cornelio from Scotiabank and General Manager of Business Operations Nicole Kemp and President and Governor Doug Springer from the Kingston Frontenacs.
