Hunter McKnight commits to Storm
Guelph, ON – Guelph Storm General Manager & Head Coach George Burnett announced today that Hunter McKnight has committed to a Standard Player Agreement with the hockey club.
The 6’2, 180 lbs left-handed centreman from Stittsville, Ontario was selected in the eighth round (155th overall) in this year’s OHL Priority Selection.
“Hunter made an excellent first impression during our recent development camp. His combination of skating, size, and skill was very evident,” said GM and Head Coach George Burnett. “We are excited to work with Hunter as he prepares for his first OHL Training Camp in the fall. We expect him to challenge our strong returning group of forwards for a role with the Storm in the near future.”
The 2006-born centreman is a product of the HEO’s Brockville Braves U18 AAA program where he had an excellent 2021-22 season; recording 12 goals, 14 assists for 26 points in 30 games. On top of his time spent with the U18 program, McKnight also played in four regular season and ten playoff games for the CCHL’s Brockville Braves Jr. A team.
“My family and I are super excited and honoured to join the Guelph Storm organization. There is lots of work ahead for me as I prepare for my first OHL training camp and the upcoming season. I can’t wait to get started.”
