2014-15 OHL Regular Season Schedule

Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced the regular season schedule of games for 2014-15, available for viewing online here.
The 680-game OHL regular season opens on Wednesday September 24 with two games featuring 2015 NHL Draft top prospect Connor McDavid and the Erie Otters visiting the Saginaw Spirit, along with a Midwest Division battle in Owen Sound between the Attack and the visiting Kitchener Rangers.
The schedule continues on Thursday September 25 with two matchups followed by nine games on Friday September 26 including the defending Eastern Conference champion North Bay Battalion at home against the Barrie Colts, and the reigning OHL champion Guelph Storm at home against the Belleville Bulls. The Storm later host the Battalion in a rematch of the Rogers OHL Championship Series on Friday October 10.
Other highlights of the season include Thursday October 2 when the Niagara IceDogs debut their brand new arena against the Mississauga Steelheads, and Friday October 10 when the IceDogs visit Ottawa for a look at the 67’s revamped home at Lansdowne Park. The schedule also includes four morning games with two to be played on Wednesday November 19 at 11:00 am when the Otters host the Plymouth Whalers and the Steelheads host the Oshawa Generals. Additionally, on Monday November 24 at 10:30 am the 67’s host the Colts, and on Tuesday March 3 at 10:45 am the Spirit host the Whalers. TVCogeco Hockey Day in the OHL returns for a second year taking place on Sunday January 25 with a broadcast tripleheader featuring the Battalion hosting the Sudbury Wolves at 1:00 pm, the Bulls hosting the Peterborough Petes at 4:00 pm, and the Windsor Spitfires hosting the Sarnia Sting at 7:00 pm.
Clubs celebrating milestone seasons in 2014-15 include the Colts and the Sting both honouring their 20th anniversary, while the Whalers honour their 25th, and the London Knights celebrate their 50th.
The 2014-15 regular season wraps up on Sunday March 22 with seven games scheduled before the league’s top 16 teams will compete for the Robertson Cup in the 2015 OHL Playoffs.
CHL Special Events this season include the 2014 SUBWAY Super Series in OHL markets on Thursday November 13 hosted by the Petes, followed by Monday November 17 hosted by the Kingston Frontenacs. The 2015 BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game is scheduled for Thursday January 22 (location still to be announced), and the MasterCard Memorial Cup set for May 21-31 hosted by the Quebec Remparts featuring the champions from all three leagues competing in the 97th edition of our prestigious national championship.
The Ontario Hockey League continues the tradition of being primarily a weekend league in order to accommodate the student athlete with over 88% (598) games scheduled between Thursday and Sunday. Friday continues to be the busiest night during the season with 203 games scheduled, followed by 172 on Saturdays, and 130 on Sundays.
