The Wolves began the draft by selecting forward Kash Kwajah from the Toronto Junior Canadiens program in the first round. The Etobicoke native produced an outstanding 2025-26 season, recording 28 goals and 35 assists in 31 GTHL U16 AAA games while earning Player of the Year honours. Kwajah also helped lead the Toronto Junior Canadiens to the OHL Cup final, finishing the tournament with 13 points in seven games and earning all-star recognition.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sudbury continued to strengthen its prospect pool on Day 2 with the addition of Ivan Belikov, a 6-foot-4 defenceman from Detroit Honeybaked, in the second round. Belikov was part of Honeybaked\u2019s championship run at the OHL Cup this spring and brings a combination of size, mobility, puck-moving ability, and physical play to the Wolves\u2019 blue line.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the two-day draft, the Wolves added forwards, defencemen, and goaltenders from across Ontario, the United States, and prep hockey programs. The club\u2019s 2026 draft class reflects a focus on building depth throughout the lineup while adding players who have shown strong development, leadership, and success in competitive environments.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the 2025-2026 season, Kwajah recorded 28 goals and 35 assists for 63 points in 31 games with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens U16 AAA program. His exceptional play earned him GTHL U16 AAA Player of the Year honours.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kwajah also excelled at the OHL cup, where he collected 13 points in seven games and was named a tournament all-star while helping the Canadiens reach the championship game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A dynamic and highly skilled centre, Kwajah is known for his speed, offensive creativity, and playmaking ability. During the 2025-26 campaign, Belikov emerged as one of the top defencemen available for the OHL Priority Selection. He helped lead Honeybaked to an OHL Cup championship, collecting 3 points (2G, 1A) in 7 games played. Belikov was consistently recognized as one of the team’s key players throughout the season.<\/span><\/p>\n

A big, puck-moving defenceman, Belikov combines size, mobility, and strong hockey sense. During the 2025-26 season, Hintenberger recorded 5 goals and 33 assists for 38 points in 60 games. He also added 4 assists in 4 OHL Cup games, helping The Hill Academy compete against the top U16 teams in Ontario.<\/span><\/p>\n

A rangy, puck-moving defenceman, Hintenberger uses his size, skating ability, and vision to impact the game at both ends of the ice. A strong two-way winger, Quinn combines size, skill, and offensive instincts. The Sudbury Wolves used their first-round pick in the OHL Draft to add one of the most productive forwards in minor hockey, selecting Etobicoke\u2019s Kash Kwajah.<\/p>\n

Kwajah, a skilled and quick-moving forward from the Toronto Junior Canadiens program, put together a standout 2025-26 season that made him one of the top names available early in the draft. The 16-year-old was on hand at Slush Puppie Place in Kingston, home of the OHL\u2019s Kingston Frontenacs, where he was joined by family, friends, his agent, and JRC teammate and billet brother Khov Long.<\/p>\n

The six-foot, 185-pound forward is the younger brother of Jet Kwajah, an 18-year-old defenceman and Brantford Bulldogs prospect. Kash earned attention throughout the season for the pace in his game, his ability to see plays develop, and the puck skill needed to create offence in tight areas.<\/p>\n

His numbers reflected that impact. Kwajah scored 28 goals and added 35 assists over 31 games in the Greater Toronto Hockey League U16 AAA loop, earning Player of the Year honours. He continued to produce on a bigger stage at the OHL Cup, leading the Toronto Junior Canadiens to the final with 13 points in seven games and being named to the tournament all-star team.<\/p>\n

For the Wolves, the selection brings another high-end offensive prospect into the organization. Kwajah\u2019s combination of speed, size, vision and scoring ability gives Sudbury a forward with the tools to become an important part of the club\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

The first transaction was finalized at 1:15 PM with the Brampton Steelheads. In the deal, Sudbury acquired a <\/span>2027 Brampton 14th-round draft pick<\/span><\/b> in exchange for a <\/span>2026 Sudbury 14th-round draft pick<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Later in the afternoon, at 3:00 PM, Sudbury completed a second trade with Brantford. The club acquired a <\/span>2027 Brantford 15th-round draft pick<\/span><\/b> in exchange for a <\/span>2026 Brantford 13th-round draft pick<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lemieux, 17, began the 2025\u201326 season with the Windsor Spitfires, where he recorded 10 goals and 8 assists for 18 points in 33 games. He was acquired by the Wolves as part of a blockbuster trade involving Nathan Villeneuve and Alex Pharand.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since joining Sudbury following the OHL trade deadline, Lemieux has made an immediate impact. In 23 games with the Wolves, he has recorded 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points, good for a 1.09 points-per-game average, showcasing his ability to produce offensively at the OHL level.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to his offensive contributions, Lemieux is known for his strong work ethic and physical style of play, making him a difficult opponent to compete against on a nightly basis.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to his strong regular season, Lemieux enjoyed a tremendous postseason. In four games, he recorded 2 goals and 1 assist. Beyond his offensive contributions, he played with his heart on his sleeve and drew multiple penalties, helping the Wolves generate opportunities on the power play.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leading the way, <\/span>Artem Gonchar<\/span> has been named the <\/span>Samuel Rothschild Most Valuable Player<\/span> after an impressive campaign, recording 15 goals and 36 assists in 65 games played. Gonchar\u2019s offensive production and consistent impact made him a key contributor all season long.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rowan Henderson<\/span> was honoured with the <\/span>Leadership Award<\/span> after appearing in 62 games and recording 12 goals and 20 assists, while also setting the standard for professionalism and work ethic. Henderson was also recognized as the team\u2019s <\/span>Best Defensive Player<\/span> for his strong presence in all three zones.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Scholastic Award<\/span> was presented to <\/span>Brady Smith<\/span>, recognizing his commitment to excellence in the classroom.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Voted by his teammates, <\/span>Chase Coughlan<\/span> earned the <\/span>Joe Drago Players\u2019 Player Award<\/span> after posting 18 goals and 15 assists in 59 games. Coughlan was also named the team\u2019s <\/span>Top Plus-Minus Player<\/span> and recipient of the <\/span>Community Service Award<\/span>, highlighting his contributions both on and off the ice.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Gord Ewin Most Improved Player Award<\/span> was awarded to <\/span>Ethan Dean<\/span>, who demonstrated significant growth over the season, finishing with 6 goals and 9 assists in 67 games.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the blue line, <\/span>Gavin Ewles<\/span> was named <\/span>Top Defenceman<\/span>, recording 4 goals and 10 assists in 67 games while providing steady play on the back end.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Offensively, <\/span>Jan Chovan<\/span> captured both the <\/span>Bill Plaunt Top Scorer Award<\/span> and <\/span>Most Goals Award<\/span>, tallying 28 goals and 27 assists in 60 games. Meanwhile, <\/span>Artem Gonchar<\/span> also earned the <\/span>Pete Shields Most Assists Award<\/span>with 36 helpers on the season.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Jim Pappin Memorial Award<\/span> was presented to <\/span>Blake Clayton<\/span>, who recorded 9 goals and 19 assists in 68 games, recognizing his dedication and contributions to the team.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\nChovan is coming off an exceptional 2025\u201326 campaign in Sudbury, where he quickly established himself as one of the team\u2019s most impactful players in his first season in North America. The Bratislava, Slovakia native led the Wolves in goals (28) and points (55) while appearing in 60 regular-season games, emerging as a cornerstone of the lineup with his consistent offensive production. <\/p>\n

After beginning the season on the wing, Chovan made a seamless mid-season transition to center, further highlighting his versatility and hockey IQ. He continued to lead the team offensively while taking on increased responsibility in all situations, including the power play, where he also led the club in goals. He additionally posted a 50 percent faceoff success rate. His strong play carried into the postseason, where he recorded two goals and remained a driving force for the Wolves, solidifying his status as one of the premier young talents in the Ontario Hockey League. <\/p>\n

Following Sudbury\u2019s playoff series against the Brantford Bulldogs, Chovan has joined the Reign and has already practiced with the club, with the potential to make his American Hockey League debut in the coming days. <\/p>\n
