Wolves Partner With Desjardins For Heart and Stroke Game
(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that they have once again partnered with Desjardins for the annual Heart and Stroke night which will take place on Friday March 11th at 7:05pm when the Wolves host the North Bay Battalion. A big addition to this season’s annual game, is that the Wolves will be wearing special green jerseys with the funds going towards the Foundation. The jerseys will be auctioned off beginning Friday through an online jersey auction which will close on March 17th at 7:00pm. Fans can bid on the jerseys HERE.
“Since 2016, Desjardins and the Sudbury Wolves have been supporting the Heart and Stroke Foundation by sponsoring a game in support of the Foundation,” said Donna Bedell, Senior Community Relationship Manager, Heart & Stroke. “In the last 5 years (excluding 2021), thanks to your generous patrons, the community has raised over $5000 to support valuable Heart & Stroke research and help Canadians in your community live lives, uninterrupted by heart disease and stroke. Your support is needed now more than ever as the Covid 19 pandemic has had an overwhelming effect on people at risk for or living with heart conditions and stroke, as well as on health professionals and researchers and every little bit counts as we advance research to make discoveries that can save or drastically improve lives. We are so grateful to the Sudbury community, Desjardins and the Sudbury Wolves for their ongoing support.”
“We have a long-standing history in supporting both the Sudbury Wolves and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Therefore, this collaboration was a natural fit for Desjardins,” says Josée Préseault, Regional Vice-President, Sudbury and Northern Ontario at Desjardins Ontario Credit Union. “We are thrilled to be part of this initiative, it’s a great way to bring the hockey community together while raising funds and awareness for the Foundation.”
“We are so happy to be able to invite all fans back to the Sudbury Arena just in time to be able to host this exciting game. It was a natural tie in with Desjardins to have a green jersey as the Wolves have a history of wearing green that dates back to the 70s and fans love the use of green in our jerseys,” said Sudbury Wolves Owner Dario Zulich. “We love the opportunity to be able to help give back to the community by hosting these jersey auctions and showcasing charities such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We are thankful to have strong community-minded sponsors such as Desjardins who continue to support not only the Wolves year-after-year, but also local charities such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We also would like to thank all of our fans for their continuous support of these initiatives.”
In addition to the jersey auction, Desjardins volunteers will also be on-hand selling paper airplanes for the second intermission airplane toss for the chance to win a gift basket valued at over $200. Fans are encouraged to visit one of their tables in the lower lobby or upper lobby to get their airplanes.
Tickets are on-sale now at the Sudbury Arena Box Office for Friday’s game, by calling 705-671-3000 or by visiting greatersudbury.ca/tickets.
