Wolves Host Generals & Battalion in a Double Header Weekend
(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Pack is Back and ready to RUN this weekend as the Sudbury Wolves get set to host the Oshawa Generals and the North Bay Battalion in double header matchups. The Generals visit the Nickel City on Friday at 7:05pm before the North Bay Battalion pay a visit on Sunday at 2:05pm.
The Wolves are coming off a dominating 8-2 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs last Friday night and look to keep the momentum alive. 2020 1st round draft selection, David Goyette showcased his elite offensive talent, scoring his first OHL hat-trick. Wolves’ first year forwards, Evan Konyen (4G-6A), Quentin Musty (2G-7A), and David Goyette (4G-3A) sit among the top 10 rookies in the OHL for total points. While captain Jack Thompson continues to lead the team in both points and assists with 3 goals, 10 assists, and 13 points in 8 games played. Ethan Larmand continues to lead the Wolves in goals, notching 6 goals through 8 games.
The Generals are led offensively by Edmonton Oilers prospect Ty Tullio who has racked up 14 points (3G-11A) and by rookie Calum Ritchie with 10 points (6G-4A) in 8 games played. The Generals’ roster also features Boston Bruins prospect Brett Harrison and Anaheim Ducks prospect Mathew Hill.
Friday marks the Wolves first matchup of the season with the Generals. On the other hand, on Sunday the Wolves will battle the Battalion for the second time this season and will be looking for redemption after falling 3-2 in a tight match-up back in early October.
The Battalion sit 1st in the Eastern conference with 3 points over the Wolves. San Jose Sharks prospect, Brandon Coe leads the Battalion with 13 points (6G-7A) through 8 games played. North Bay’s roster also features NHL prospect Matvey Petrov (EDM) and first overall pick in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection, Ty Nelson.
Sunday’s Halloween game will been Spooktacular! Kids 12 and under who dress up in costumes can receive a free small popcorn when visiting a concession booth. Tickets are on sale now at greatersudbury.ca/tickets and at the Sudbury Arena Box Office. Those attending the box office in person, must wear a mask and maintain social distancing. The Sudbury Arena Box Office will be open Monday to Thursday from Noon to 4pm and Friday from 9am until the end of the second intermission. Get your tickets early to avoid the lines!
