Wolves Host Double the Action this Weekend
(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves prepare for an action-packed weekend at the Sudbury Community Arena as they host the Owen Sound Attack on Friday and the Oshawa Generals on Saturday.
After a tough battle Friday, the Wolves ended their weekend with a strong finish as they defeated the Barrie Colts 6-4 Saturday and the Hamilton Bulldogs 6-2 on Sunday to take 5 out of 6 points on the weekend. Wolves centreman, #55 Quinton Byfield helped drive the Wolves to victory as he scored 3 goals as well as collected his 55th point in his 55th game played this season. The Wolves are continuing to battle for play-off positing as they enter the final month of regular season play. Friday, the Wolves will match-up with the Owen Sound Attack for the second time this season at 7:05pm. The Owen Sound Attack currently sit 4th in the Midwest division. The Attack roster is led by Aidan Dudas and Adam McMaster. Dudas, a prospect for the Los Angeles Kings has earned 50 points in just 59 games (23 goals, 27 assists), while McMaster falls closely behind with 44 points in 60 games, 30 of those being assists.
Friday’s game is sponsored by community minded partner, Cintas, who will be on hand with rally towels for fans in attendance.
Saturday, the Wolves will line up against the Oshawa Generals at 7:05pm. The Wolves sit just one point behind the Generals in the Eastern Conference playoff battle. The Generals are led upfront by forwards and NHL prospects, Brandon Saigeon (Colorado) and Serron Noel (Florida). Saigeon has collected 85 points in just 60 games, making him 9th in the league’s standings. The Generals are backstopped by Boston Bruins prospect Kyle Keyser, who in 41 games played has a record of 28-7-2.
Join the Wolves for Italian night at the Sudbury Arena. Saturday’s game is sponsored by the Caruso Club who will be on hand with prizes for lucky fans. Prosciutto sandwiches will be available for sale in the club area and the Coro Caruso will also join the pre-game ceremony to perform the Italian Anthem. Prior to the start of the game, the Wolves will also recognize team statistician David Harrison, who will be retiring at the end of this season after 47 years with the club.
