Vladimir Provorov Commits to the Wolves
The Sudbury Wolves are delighted to announce that Vladimir Provorov, a Wolves’ 2025 2nd round OHL Priority selection, has signed an OHL Scholarship and Development agreement with the team.
“We are thrilled that Vladimir has committed to the Sudbury Wolves,” said Rob Papineau, Vice President and General Manager of the Sudbury Wolves. “He had an outstanding season in New Jersey where he put up just under 130 points this year. He is a very intelligent and skilled forward who we were very excited to be able to draft and bring to Sudbury. He comes from a strong hockey family and understands what it takes to play at this level and beyond. We welcome Vladimir and his family to Sudbury and to the Sudbury Wolves.”
Born in Yaroslavl, Russia, Vladimir Provorov is a 5-foot-11, 160lbs left-handed forward who is now based out of Bound Brook, New Jersey. The 37th overall pick in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection, he has played for the New Jersey Rockets the past two seasons, including a 2024/25 season that saw him produce 36 goals and 91 assists for 127 points in 75 games. He is the younger brother of former Brandon Wheat King and current Columbus Blue Jacket Ivan Provorov.
Vladimir is a highly skilled forward who displays exceptional puck skills and elite level hockey sense. He can handle the puck in tight areas and create offensive opportunities for his teammates. His level of deception is elite both with his ability to change pace and overall spatial awareness on the ice.
