Musty Named to USA Hockey’s Under-18 Men’s Select Team
The Sudbury Wolves wish to congratulate forward, Quentin Musty who has been named to USA Hockey’s final roster for the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup to be held in Red Deer, Alta. from July 31 to Aug. 6. The roster was announced following the USA Hockey BioSteel Boys Select 17 Player Development Camp hosted at Northtown Center and Daemen University in Amherst, N.Y.
The 2021 OHL 1st overall selection, Quentin Musty had a strong performance at the Select 17 Player Development Camp where he registered 7 points through 7 games played (4 goals, 3 Assist). Quentin will be join nine players who helped the U.S. Under-17 Men’s Select Team win the 2021 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament, held last summer in Visp, Switzerland. Fifteen of the team members are currently committed to play college hockey.
The OHL’s Jack Ferguson award recipient and 1st overall selection of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection from the North Jersey Avalanche, where he recorded 23 goals and 33 assists for 56 total points in just 27 games. With the North Jersey Avalanche, he led his team to the USA Hockey Youth Tier-1 U16 National Championship. In 6 games played, Quentin tallied 9 goals and 8 assists for a total of 17 points. He led both his team and the tournament in scoring. Through his rookie season in the OHL, Quentin scored 31 points (12G, 19A) and he was voted to the second all-rookie team for the 2021-22 OHL campaign.

2022 U.S. Under-18 Men’s Select Team Unveiled
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey announced today the 24-player roster for its 2022 U.S. Under-18 Men’s Select Team which will compete at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Red Deer, Alberta, July 31-August 6. The roster was announced following the USA Hockey BioSteel Boys Select 17 Player Development Camp hosted at Northtown Center and Daemen University in Amherst, N.Y.
The 2022 U.S. Under-18 Men’s Select Team features nine players who helped the U.S. Under-17 Men’s Select Team win the 2021 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament, held last summer in Visp, Switzerland. Fifteen of the team members are currently committed to play college hockey.
Anthony Noreen (Chicago, Ill./Tri-City Storm) will serve as head coach, joined by assistant coaches Matt Curley (Madrid, N.Y./Des Moines Buccaneers), Michael Leone (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Green Bay Gamblers), Tom Upton (Austin, Texas/University of Massachusetts) and goaltending coach Steve Thompson (Anchorage, Alaska/USA Hockey). General manager Marc Boxer (Hancock, Mich./USA Hockey) is joined by player personnel staff Lyrrad “Rod” Braceful (Detroit, Mich./Chicago Blackhawks) and Tony Gasparini (Lakeville, Minn./Sioux Falls Stampede). Parker Metz (Fargo, N.D.) will serve as team leader with team physician Dr. Chris Bookout (Gulf Breeze, Fla.), athletic trainer Kevin Krueger (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) and equipment manager Patrick Dooley (Berkley, Mich./University of Vermont).
NOTES: The U.S. will compete alongside Czechia, Finland and Germany in Group B at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. Canada, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland will compete in Group A … Team USA has finished in the top three of the Hlinka tournament 13 times since the tournament began in 1991. The U.S. won the tournament in 2003, has finished second on nine occasions (1993, 1994, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2006, 2010, 2013, 2016) and third three times (1991, 1995, 2014).
