Blake Clayton Commits to Wolves
(GREATER SUDBURY, ON) The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that forward, Blake Clayton has committed to the hockey club.
“Blake is a player that we felt was great value in the 7th round,” said Sudbury Wolves VP and General Manager, Rob Papineau. “He was the leader and captain of his Burlington U16 team and this year he had a tremendous year in Brantford Jr B where he was named an Assistant Captain at just 16 years old. He is a very competitive smart player who is always pushing the pace.”
Blake Clayton was drafted by the Wolves with the 137th overall pick of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. The six-foot, 165lbs, forward is from Burlington, ON currently playing for the Brantford Bandits of the GOJHL. This season with the Bandits Blake has registered 28 points with 15 goals and 13 assist through 48 regular season games played and has played in 5 post season games collecting 2 points.
“It’s been a dream of mine since I was little to play in the OHL, and it is just wonderful to have the honour to play and compete for such a great organization and city,” said Blake Clayton.
Scouting reports from the Wolves depict Blake as is a strong two-way forward with an offensive skillset. He plays with an edge and competes on every shift. Blake has a quick release and a strong pace to his game.
