Training Camp 2026 – Day 4 Recap

It was practice day at the Sleeman Centre as the returning players were on ice at 9:00am during an open skate, followed by the prospects and free agents. The veterans took the ice once again in the afternoon to close out Training Camp day 4. It was a lighter day for prospects and free agents as many of them will be taking the ice in Friday's pre-season game against the Peterborough Petes. Individual game tickets are available now. Guelph Storm add Mike MacPherson to support staff

General Manager George Burnett announced today that Mike MacPherson will join the club to assist as an added layer of support with player, billet, and family relations.

“Mike’s vast experience as a community leader, distinguished high school principal, accomplished coach, and NHL scout provides him with the necessary tools to offer support, guidance, and direction for our players, billets, and families,” said General Manager George Burnett.

“My career in sport and education has been built on relationships, and I am honoured to help the Guelph Storm in support of the players, parents, and billets,” said Mike MacPherson.

The veteran Guelph Storm players officially reported to the Royal City. The prospects and free agents skated through a morning scrimmage and an afternoon practice, while the vets started their time with testing and medicals at Pursuit Athletic Centre. There will be an official roster update on the morning of Thursday, August 27th. In addition, the schedule for the day has shifted. All updates can be found below. Storm acquire six draft picks for the rights to Declan McNally

General Manager George Burnett has announced today that the club has traded the rights to 2026 first round pick Declan McNally to the Barrie Colts in exchange for a second round pick (Sarnia) in 2028, a second round pick (Barrie) in 2030, a third round pick (Brantford) in 2028, a third round pick (Barrie) in 2030, a fourth round pick (Barrie) in 2029, and a fifth round pick (Sault Ste. Marie) in the 2027 OHL Priority Selection.
