The Guelph Storm has lost goaltender Brandon Foote indefinitely with a broken collarbone.
Foote suffered the injury at Tuesday’s practice when a J.P. Labardo shot hit him in an unprotected area.
Average recovery time for a broken collarbone is six to eight weeks. That could put Foote’s return right at the end of the regular season.
“It’s unfortunate. It’s tough timing. But it is what it is and we’ve got to move forward,” Storm coach Jason Brooks said yesterday after practice.
“Brandon’s supposed to meet with the doc (yesterday) and see if surgery is necessary. I’d be guessing, and saying somewhere between six or eight weeks before he’s back, but it could be more and it could be less, depending on him.”
The Storm’s other regular goaltender, Jake Fischer, has been recovering from mononucleosis.
