Rick Gaetz is new Chairman of the Board
The Ontario Hockey League has announced that Guelph Storm Governor Rick Gaetz is the new Chairman of the OHL Board of Governors. The announcement was made at last week’s annual meetings held at Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Gaetz has been Governor of the Storm since the 2006-07 season and has been instrumental to the success and evolution of the franchise including a championship title in 2014. Previously serving in the role of Vice-Chairman, Gaetz has been a member of the OHL’s Executive Council since 2008. In 2010 he was the OHL’s recipient of the Executive of the Year Award.
The OHL would also like to welcome Niagara IceDogs Governor Bill Burke to the OHL Executive Council elected to the role of Officer at Large.
Additional changes to the Executive sees Craig Goslin of the Saginaw Spirit as the new Vice-Chairman, promoted from his role as Secretary-Treasurer. Gord Simmonds of the Hamilton Bulldogs becomes the new Secretary-Treasurer after holding the position of Officer at Large for the past two seasons.
Dr. Bob Neville of the Peterborough Petes will remain on the Executive Council in the role of Past Chairman replacing Ottawa 67’s Governor Jeff Hunt.
