Meet Storm prospect Brayden Gillespie
In the eleventh round 207th overall, the Guelph Storm proudly selected Brayden Gillespie of the North York Rangers.
Describing himself as a very quick, athletic and smart goalie who loves playing in big games to help his team win, Gillespie is most excited about training camp and having the chance to play real meaningful games.
Prior to the Covid-19 lockdown, Gillespie watched the Storm in action and was amazed by the passion of the fans in the building.
“Brayden is an elite multi-sport athlete that also excels at baseball. Already has a ‘pro’ mentality towards his craft with an elite and consistent work ethic,” head coach Rob Miwa stated. “Very athletic goaltender that will have a long career in front of him at the highest levels.” The goalie has been with the organization the last two-years and can not wait to get started with the Storm.
“I am so excited, proud and honoured to have been drafted by the Guelph Storm of the OHL,” Gillespie said. “I would like to thank my family, teammates, advisor, goalie trainers and North York Ranger coaches for all of their help/support. I can’t wait to get started with Guelph!”
