Junior Reporter – Brooklyn
Saturday, November 16 LDN @ GUE
My name is Brooklyn and I am 7 years old and I was picked to be the Jr Storm Reporter for this game! I was excited ever since finding out all the cool stuff I would get to do for it! It was too bad that the Storm didn’t win, but all the players played really hard and I cheered them on as much as I could! So it was too bad they couldn’t win the game, but it was a good game anyway.
Before the game, I got to go up and see the media/press box which was really cool to see all the big TV cameras and computers that make the game really fun and interesting! I also got to visit the penalty box. I got some jujubes in there which I really liked!! I got to see some other suites and media rooms and then my family got a free pizza. After the pizza and before the game started, I got to go for a ride on the Baby Boni with my friend, and it was so much fun driving around and doing donuts. We laughed and waved to the fans all the way around!
After the game was done of the parts of the day I looked forward to most – the player interview. My first choice was my favourite player, Jett Luchanko! We weren’t sure if he would be able to do the interview or not, but I went through the doors to the private area and he was right there! I was very excited but also a little nervous, so I needed a little bit of help with my first question before I asked him the other two.
What was it like playing in the NHL?
“It was really fun, it was cool seeing a lot of the other players and see what goes on there, and hopefully bring some of that here to help the team.”
When did you start playing hockey?
“I was about 4 years old when my dad got me into it and I just fell in love with it and went from there.”
Do you have any pets?
Answer: “I don’t, no. But at my house in Guelph, we have a dog named Rascal.”
