Import selection Daniil Skvortsov commits to Storm
Guelph, ON – Guelph Storm General Manager George Burnett announced today that 2024 CHL Import Draft first-round selection Daniil Skvortsov has committed to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the hockey club.
The 6-foot-4, 200 lbs left handed defenceman was selected 27th overall by the Storm in this month’s Import Draft. The Kaluga, Russia native spent the past season with the Krasnaya Armiya Moskva in the MHL, which is the top junior hockey league in Russia, and was the Captain of the U16 and U17 Russian National Team for the past two seasons.
“Daniil fills a very specific need for our hockey club,” said General Manager George Burnett. “A left-shot defenceman who brings a combination of great size, puck-moving ability, and compete. Even as a young player, he played very successfully last season in the top Russian junior league. We are excited to welcome Daniil and his family to the Storm organization.”
