Guelph Storm’s Quinn Beauchesne of the Ontario Hockey League announced to the roster for the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge presented by Kubota.
The Ottawa, Ont., native was the 1st round, 14th overall selection by the Storm in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. In his first season with the Storm the 6’0, 172-pound, right-shot defender posted 7 points (2 g, 5 a) through 33 games. Internationally, Beauchesne has represented Canada at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge where he donned the ‘C’ for Canada Red and the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Edmonton. Beauchesne contributed 3 points in 5 games (1 goal, 2 assists) to Team Canada’s gold medal win at the tournament.
Building off of one of hockey’s greatest rivalries between Canada and the United States, the CHL USA Prospects Challenge will see the top first-year NHL Draft-eligible prospects from the CHL’s Member Leagues – Western Hockey League (WHL), Ontario Hockey League (OHL), and Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) – face-off against those from the U.S. National Under-18 Team in a two-game series.
The first game of this new event will take place on Tuesday, November 26 at Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario, while the second contest will be held the following night on Wednesday, November 27 at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, Ontario. Tickets for both games of the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge can be purchased here.
