Fashion Lighting Player Spotlight – Mark Sikic
Born in Kitchener, Ont., eight-teen-year-old Marko Sikic drafted by the Storm 55th overall in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. The six-foot-three, 183-pound centre previously played for the Kitchener Jr. Rangers U16 AAA. Sikic has appeared in 18-games this season notching 4-goals and 3-assists.
HOW IT STARTED
Q: When and how did become involved in hockey?
A: Around seven-years-old I told my parents I wanted to give hockey a shot, they brought me to the rink and it took off from there.
Q: Have you always been a forward?
A: Yes.
Q: Are there any players you style your game after, and if so, who?
A: Jonathan Towes or Patrice Bergeron they’re both good offensive and defensive players.
Q: Who would you say is your biggest support system?
A: I definitely have to go with my family.
HOW IT’S GOING
Q: How has your experience in Guelph been so far?
A: It’s been really good, been here for 2 or so years and I have nothing bad to say about the city.
Q: How would you describe the energy of this year’s team?
A: Pretty high. We’re a young team and we like to win so the energy is always high. Everyone wants to come in and compete every day.
Q: What motivates you to work hard?
A: Making it to the playoffs and winning a championship with the team.
LOOKING FORWARD
Q: What are you personally working on the most this season?
A: Being more consistent overall every game.
Q: Where do you see yourself in five years?
A: Hopefully playing professional hockey, whether in Europe or in the NHL. Or even just staying involved in hockey in some way.
Q: What’s a piece of advice you’d give to someone pursuing an OHL career?
A: Work had and enjoy it because time flies.
