[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Former Sarnia Sting forward Jordan Bax is making waves in professional hockey. This summer, Bax signed an AHL contract with the San Jose Barracuda for the 2026-27 season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Parkhill, Ontario native had an uphill journey to the OHL and beyond. Bax started in low-level junior at age 16, and worked his way up year after year. In 2024-25, Bax played in the BCHL before being invited to Sarnia\u2019s training camp. After going undrafted in the OHL Priority Selection, Bax defied the odds by earning a spot on the Sting’s roster in his overage season.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bax is well-known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca said, \u201cJordan Bax is an incredible story. He has persevered through all levels of hockey. He is a perfect example of a player who believed in their abilities and skills.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When asked about his determination, Bax said, \u201cI think it started at a young age. Always being cut and told that I wasn\u2019t good enough. It built character and lit a fire in me. I wanted to prove to everyone that I could be a player\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bax recorded 15 goals and 16 assists in his season with Sting, and became a reliable force for the team, bringing a physical edge and willingness to stand up for his teammates.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cI went from playing AA to being one step below my all-time dream, which is every kid’s dream, to play in the NHL. It’s about being resilient, working hard, grinding it out when no one’s looking, and not giving up when they tell you you\u2019re not good enough\u201d, said Bax.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bax\u2019s accomplishment of signing with the Barracuda is a true testament to his time and success in Sarnia.<\/span><\/p>\n

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The ninth annual Sarnia Sting Charity Golf Tournament in support of Pathways Health Center for Children was a tremendous success, bringing together members of the Sarnia-Lambton community, local businesses and Sting supporters for a day of golf, fundraising and community spirit.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The sun was out, and the sky was clear, on July 14 at the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club, perfect conditions for a round of golf with a cause. Despite the blazing temperatures, golfers hit the course with plenty of enthusiasm as they came together to support PathwaysHealth\u00a0 Centre for Children. The annual event allowed the Sting to give back to the community while raising funds for an organization dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families throughout the region.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”42465″ img_size=”full”]
