STING EDGE TORONTO ST.MIKE’S – WIN THIRD IN A ROW AT HOME
The Sarnia Sting and Toronto St. Michael’s Majors faced off at the SSEC Friday Night with the Sting coming out on top defeating the Major’s by a score 3 – 2 before 4,071 fans in Sarnia. The Sting increased their home winning streak to three games.
Joey Tenute opened the scoring at 5:23 of the first, scoring his 20th goal of the season. Tenute is now the third Sting player to reach the 20 goal plateau this season joining Kris Newbury and Daniel Carcillo.
The St. Mike’s Majors would tie the game in the second period at 1-1 on a goal by Sal Peralta. Carcillo would get the go ahead goal for the Sting at 7:39 of the second, his 21st of the season. The Sting would make it 3-1 in the second on Marek Chvatal’s 4th goal of the year at 7:39. In the third period the Major’s would close within one to make it 3-2 at 7:22 on a goal by Ryan Rorabeck, but that is all the Major’s would get on the evening. Ryan Munce was in goal and got the victory for Sarnia stopping 31 of 33 shots faced. He was also the Ranson first star of the game.
Joey Tenute had 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points while Danny Fritsche, added two assists for two pints on the night. Andy Chiodo was in goal for Toronto facing only 20 shots.
