Four members of the Sting included in NHL Central Scouting Final Draft Rankings

Sarnia, ON. – The Sarnia Sting are pleased to recognize 4  players included on NHL Central Scouting’s Final Rankings for the 2021 NHL Draft to be held on July 23-24.

A total of 55 players from the  Ontario Hockey League were included on Central Scouting’s North American rankings in addition to six from the International list combine to include 37 forwards, 19 defencemen and five goaltenders, all of whom have played at least one game in the Ontario Hockey League. An additional 13 players who had committed for the 2020-21 season, but who have yet to play in an OHL game were also listed.

Benjamin Gaudreau (G) 2nd among North American Goalies

The Sting’s 18 year old net minder finds himself among the top ranked goaltenders in his class following a championship showing at the IIHF World Under 18 Hockey Championships. The Corbeil, ON native is primed to be one of the OHL’s top net minders when the Sting return in the fall.

Ryan Mast (D) 89th among North American skaters

The Bloomfield, MI native logged significant minutes on the blueline as a 16-year old and caught the eye of the scouts with his poise with the puck and playmaking abilities. At 6’04” 210 lbs. Mast will look to continue his development on the Sting Blueline when the OHL returns to action.

Ty Voit (F) 107th among North American Skaters
Coming to the Ontario Hockey League from the Pittsburgh, PA area. Voit continued to improve in his rookie season and stood out as a speedy, skilled forward by the latter half of the year. Voit finished the season with 8 goals and 28 points in 48 games played.

Nolan Dann (F) 213th among North American Skaters

Although suiting up in one OHL game for the Sting in the 2019-20 season, Dann was a standout with the Georgetown Raiders in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL). In 52 OJHL games played last season, the Cambridge, ON native logged 26 goals and 48 points.
