OHL Return to Play Update & FAQ’s
Toronto, ON. – The Ontario Hockey League today announced an updated timeline on its Return to Play plan for the 2020-21 season as it continues to work with government and health agencies to finalize outstanding matters that help ensure the health and safety of all members of the OHL community.
“Although we are eager to get back on the ice, the safety and well-being of our players, staff, officials, tremendous fans and communities remains paramount,” said OHL Commissioner David Branch. “We remain committed to providing our players with a safe, first-class development experience as they pursue their professional and academic goals, and we look forward to the planned opening of our Regular Season on Thursday, February 4.”
Under the new timelines, OHL Training Camps are scheduled to commence on Saturday, January 23 in preparation for the 2020-21 Regular Season that will feature a 40-game schedule running from Thursday, February 4 through Saturday, May 8. Teams will play primarily against opponents in their geographic region in an effort to reduce travel in consideration of the health and safety of all players and staff. Details concerning the structure of team alignment will be made available upon release of the 2020-21 OHL Regular Season schedule.
A total of eight teams will qualify for the 2021 OHL Playoffs in pursuit of the J. Ross Robertson Cup that get underway on Tuesday, May 11. The OHL Playoffs will consist of three rounds, the first being a best-of-five opening round, followed by two best-of-seven formats to crown a League champion by no later than Monday, June 14. The 2021 Memorial Cup presented by Kia is scheduled to begin Thursday, June 17 in either Oshawa or Sault Ste. Marie.

Fans in attendance
A decision has yet to be confirmed on if fans will be allowed to be in attendance, however the Ontario Hockey League is working currently working with the Ontario Government and Medical Health Authorities to finalize these plans. As soon as we know the answer, we will be sure to release all this and relative ticketing information.
I have paid for my 2020-21 season tickets
Anyone with a credit on account for 2020-21 will be honoured for the 2020-21 season. If they wish to forgo the 2020-21 season, there will be no penalty and your credit can be applied to tickets during the 2021-22 regular season.
I have not yet paid for my 2020-21 tickets
Any seats that were held as season tickets for the 2019-20 seasons will automatically be held for the 2020-21 season (depending on fan capacity) AS WELL AS the 2021-2022 season.
Credits on 2019-20 tickets for games that were cancelled due to COVID 19
All season ticket holders will receive a credit on their account for the four missed games due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
All individual ticket holders will receive one (1 voucher per ticket for the 2020-21 season (depending on fan capacity) OR for any game in the 2021-21 season.
Do fans have to wear masks at games?
The Sarnia Sting are awaiting Federal, Provincial, and Local Government guidelines and procedures on how we can re-open safely. The safety and well being of our fans, players, billets, staff, and community partners are our top priority.
The Sarnia Sting Hockey Club is committed to ensuring that Sting fans can enjoy the game of hockey in a safe and comfortable environment. Our organization is working closely with health and government officials to determine how to properly get back to business.
