Games Notes – Game Preview October 3, 2026 VS Barrie Colts
The Sarnia Sting are right back in action tonight, hitting the road to take on the Barrie Colts at Sadlon Arena.
Sarnia continues their busy weekend following a 4-3 overtime loss to the Soo Greyhounds in Friday night’s home opener. Despite the loss, the Sting battled through a tight contest to earn a point, moving their record to 3-1-1 through the opening five games of the season.
Tonight gives the Sting an opportunity to quickly bounce back as they continue what has been a strong start to the 2026-27 campaign.
Brenner Lammens continued his impressive start Friday night, opening the scoring with the first home goal of the season. Captain Alessandro Di Iorio also found the back of the net, while Chase Gaughan scored his first of the year. Sarnia has received offence throughout the lineup early in the season, with several players already making an impact on the scoresheet.
The Colts enter tonight still searching for their first win of the season. Barrie sits at 0-4-1 through its opening five games. Despite the slow start, the Sting will look to avoid giving the Colts an opportunity to find momentum on home ice.
Tonight also marks a return to Barrie for Sting defenceman Cole Emerton. Sarnia acquired Emerton from the Colts during the offseason after he spent the beginning of his OHL career in Barrie.
With little time between games, the Sting will look to put last night behind them and get back into the win column before continuing their weekend Sunday night in Oshawa.
Puck drop between the Sting and Colts is set for 7:30 p.m. at Sadlon Arena. Tune in on FloHockey and YourTV Sarnia Channel 700, and follow Sting socials for updates.
