The Sting will wrap up their action-packed week with a matchup against the Flint Firebirds tonight. Puck drop is set for 7:05 PM at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
The Sting are coming off a tough 6-3 loss to the Kitchener Rangers on Wednesday night. Despite the outcome, Sarnia played hard, generated on special teams and gave a full effort. Brenner Lammens opened the scoring of the game, assisted by Mitch Young and goaltender Patrick Quinaln. Beckham Edwards scored the second Sing goal shorthanded and was assisted by Jack Van Volsen. Edwards went on to score Sarnia’s final goal on the powerplay.
In a post-morning skate interview, Edwards highlighted his positive takeaways from the game: “I think our start was really good against a top team in the league.” Kitchener is first in the Midwest Division and first overall in the Western Conference.
Every game going forward is a must-win for the Sting, who are trying to find a playoff position. Each point matters, and Edwards and the team are on board, he said, “Every game is do or die. We need to stick to it and stay positive. In times of adversity throughout the game, we need to stick to what we know.”
