$6,315 Raised to Battle COVID-19 locally in Inaugural Online 50/50
Sarnia, ON- In partnership with Friends of Sarnia Minor Hockey Youth & Education the Sarnia Sting are proud to announce a donation of $6,315.00 to the Bluewater Health Foundation COVID 19 Emergency Relief Fund to help battle the spread of COVID 19 locally.
On June 4th The Sarnia Sting and Friends of Sarnia Minor Hockey Youth & Education took another step into the digital world launching their first online 50/50. An opportunity to continue to raise funds for local not-for-profit organizations with the excitement of the big 50/50 jackpots at Sarnia Sting home games all from the comfort of home.
“We are tremendously grateful for our partners and the work of Friends of Sarnia Minor Hockey Youth & Education, led by Fred & Pat Sterling. The work they do allows the Sarnia Sting to use our platform to directly contribute to local community organizations who need it, we can’t thank them enough.” Comments Sting President Bill Abercrombie.
The three-week digital campaign was the first for the partner organizations. The efforts totaled over $12,000 in sales and $6.315 going to the Bluewater Health Foundations COVID 19 Emergency Relief Fund. The campaign included an Early-Bird Draw that saw Jamie Schoettle (winning number: A-4722902) take home a flex-10 ticket package for the 2020-21 Sting Season and a pair of authentic game-worn Ryan McGregor hockey gloves.

Randi Rogers, 37 of Sarnia was the lucky winner of the over six-thousand-dollar jackpot prize (winning number: A-2635537).
“Day after day we have seen local organizations step up to help in this battle and as a leader in this community it is our duty to join in that fight. I want to thank everyone who contributed to this campaign and other Sting initiatives throughout the season. On behalf of the entire organization we are wishing all well in these times and hope to see everyone back at the rink when it is safe to do so. “Abercrombie adds.

Friends of Sarnia Minor Hockey Youth & Education is a volunteer, not-for-profit organization that partners with the Sarnia Sting holding the license for all 50/50 campaigns at Sting home games and online.
