WESTLAND INSURANCE COMMUNITY PLAYER OF THE MONTH: STEVIE LESKOVAR
The Brampton Steelheads proudly announce that Stevie Leskovar has been named the Westland Insurance Community Player of the Month for January.
Since joining the team in January 2023, Leskovar has continued to make an impact on and off the ice, especially within the local community. Stevie has participated in numerous community givebacks throughout his years with the Steelheads and consistently makes an effort to get involved in various initiatives.
Earlier this season, Stevie joined fans at a local Tim Hortons for a Tim Hortons Trading Card event. Interacting with community members, Leskovar took his time throughout the event to get to know each attendee, trade hockey cards, and talk about all things hockey and beyond. Through his efforts, Stevie positively impacted everyone he interacted with, especially the young hockey players who attended the event.
Alongside trading hockey cards and interacting with fans, Stevie also attended a local minor hockey practice. Visiting the Applewood Coyotes Minor Hockey team, Leskovar ran drills and helped the players further develop their hockey skills. During his visit, Stevie also incorporated some fun into the practice while sharing tips and tricks for being a better player both on and off the ice. Demonstrating the power of teamwork and the importance of practicing the game, Leskovar ensured each player left the ice with a smile and learned something new.
Through his consistent dedication to giving back to the community and the development of the game, the Brampton Steelheads are thrilled to have Stevie Leskovar as January’s Westland Insurance Player of the Month.

It’s something I’ll never forget. Visiting schools and supporting young hockey players is truly amazing. The City of Brampton has been so welcoming to the Steelheads, and it’s great to give back whenever I can.
