Community Report: July 2016
July was very exciting for the Mississauga Steelheads as we attended many fun events in and around Mississauga. The hot and sunny weather was also a bonus! Here’s a quick recap on where you may have seen the Steelheads this month:
FRIDAY JULY 1 – CANADA DAY
PAINT THE TOWN RED PARADE @ PORT CREDIT
What better way to start the Canada Day celebrations than with a parade! Steelheads owner Elliott Kerr was behind the wheel in our community cruiser, following Sauga, Steelheads staff and special helpers who all walked along Lakeshore Rd. in Port Credit, Mississauga for the annual Paint The Town Red Parade. Our staff and helpers gave out Steelheads foam pucks, along with smiles and waves to the crowd!
CANADA DAY CELEBRATION @ CELEBRATION SQUARE
After the parade, we drove to Celebration Square in downtown Mississauga for more Canada Day celebrations. We set up our inflatable and saw many talented kids take their best slap-shot to hit the targets! It was a fun event with lots of food, music, and entertainment. A great time was had by all!
TUESDAY JULY 19 – KIDS COPS & FISHING
On Tuesday morning Sauga and Steelheads staff made their way to Glen Haffy Conservation Area for the Kids, Cops & Fishing event. Sauga loved seeing everyone fishing, especially the lucky one who caught him!
SUNDAY JULY 24 – TRI-FUN MISSISSAUGA
Steelheads staff attended the Tri-FUN Kids’ Triathlon race series the Huron Park Recreation Centre and Park in Mississauga on Sunday. We saw kids of all ages tackle the challenging Triathlon obstacles. Congrats to everyone who participated!
