Brampton Steelheads Add Goaltender Zach Bowen in Trade with Petes
The Brampton Steelheads announced they have traded Lucas Karmiris to the Peterborough Petes for Zach Bowen, and three picks.
BRAMPTON, ON – Tuesday afternoon, the Brampton Steelheads announced a trade with the Peterborough Petes, sending centreman Lucas Karmiris in exchange for goaltender Zach Bowen, a second-round pick in 2026 (OS), a fourth-round pick in 2029 (PBO), and a conditional third-round pick in 2027 (PBO).
Karmiris was selected by the Steelheads in the first round (13th overall) of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. Over three seasons in Brampton, he appeared in 165 regular season games, recording 96 points (33 goals, 63 assists). He also added four points (3 goals, 1 assist) in 17 playoff contests.
Heading our way is 6-foot-2, 190-pound goaltender Zach Bowen, who brings experience to the Steelheads’ crease. The overager has played in 88 career OHL regular season games between the London Knights and Peterborough Petes, posting a 3.68 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage.
Bowen was originally selected by London in the second round (77th overall) of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. As a rookie in the 2022–23 season, he posted a 17–4–0 record, 3.10 GAA, and .899 save percentage, earning him the F.W. “Dinty” Moore Trophy as the OHL’s top rookie goaltender with the best goals-against average.
