Who’s up:
Kitchener Rangers – up one spot to #3 this week
A quiet weekend saw the Rangers win their lone contest, exacting revenge on the Owen Sound Attack in a 4-3 triumph at The Aud. Colorado Avalanche prospect Christian Humphreys scored his first two goals of the season in the win.
Owen Sound Attack – up one spot to #4 this week
The Bears dropped decisions against Kitchener and Saginaw before redeeming themselves with a 6-3 win over the previously undefeated Windsor Spitfires on Sunday. Reigning OHL Rookie of the Year Pierce Mbuyi scored twice in the victory while rookie Max Delisle had a pair of helpers.
Kingston Frontenacs – up one spot to #5 this week
The Fronts defeated Oshawa and Erie, with great goaltending from NHL Draft prospect Gavin Betts in the crease. Kingston sits atop the Eastern Conference standings in the early going with a 4-1-0-1 mark through six games.
Barrie Colts – up one spot to #9 this week
The Colts got a shot in the arm with the return of big centreman Cole Beaudoin from the Utah Mammoth. Another first round NHL pick in New York Islanders prospect Kashawn Aitcheson put together back-to-back two-goal performances in wins over Oshawa and Niagara. The Colts battled back from down 5-1 in the third period on Sunday in Niagara to take the game 6-5 in a shootout.
Guelph Storm – up one spot to #12 this week
Leo Serlin came through as the OT hero in Friday’s 3-2 Storm overtime win over the Saginaw Spirit. Guelph claimed a point on Saturday afternoon, losing 3-2 in overtime to the London Knights.
Brampton Steelheads – up one spot to #15 this week
The Trout skated to a big 5-0 win over the Soo Greyhounds in their one contest last week. Newcomer Josh Avery had a goal and an assist in his Steelheads debut.
Sarnia Sting – up one spot to #16 this week
The Sting are back in the mix after losing 4-3 to the Niagara IceDogs and defeating the Flint Firebirds 4-2. NHL Draft prospect Beckham Edwards leads the team offensively with eight points (3-5–8) over six games while Jack Van Volsen has five goals.
Who’s down:
Niagara IceDogs – down three spots to #6 this week
The IceDogs had a rough showing on Thursday in Windsor, being shutout 6-0 before rebounding with a 4-3 win in Sarnia on Friday. Sunday’s weekend finale was forgettable, as the Dogs led a 5-1 lead over the Barrie Colts get away, losing 6-5 in a shootout.
North Bay Battalion – down one spot to #10 this week
North Bay defeated Sudbury by a score of 3-1 on Friday night before losing 4-3 to the Soo Greyhounds at home on Sunday.
Oshawa Generals – down one spot to #13 this week
The Generals dropped a pair of decisions in Kingston and Barrie to start the weekend before Owen Griffin came through in overtime on Sunday, helping Oshawa defeat the Saginaw Spirit 3-2.
Peterborough Petes – down two spots and off the list this week
The Petes lost to Erie and Brantford, dropping to 2-3-0-1 to start the season. First overall pick Kaden McGregor made his debut in Thursday’s loss.
