06/06/13 Spirit Forward Jimmy Lodge on USA Hockey’s Radar for 2014 World Junior Championship
USA Hockey has unveiled its list of forwards and defensemen for its 2013 National Junior Evaluation Camp and Spirit center Jimmy Lodge will be among the players auditioning. A total of 40 players, 8 of whom skate in the OHL, have been invited to the camp which will take place in Lake Placid, N.Y. from August 3rd to 10th. Goaltender invitations to the camp will be announced later this month. Along with Lodge, the OHL will be represented in Lake Placid by Dylan Blujus of the North Bay Battalion, Connor Carrick of the Plymouth Whalers, Sarnia’s Anthony DeAngelo, and Windsor’s Nick Ebert, and Patrick Sieloff on the blueline. Invited forwards include Justin Bailey of Kitchener, and Brady Vail of Windsor.
The attending players are all vying for spots for the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship as Team USA will be looking to defend its Gold Medal from 2013 from December 26th to January 5th in Malmo, Sweden.
This past season, Lodge placed third in Spirit scoring recording 28 goals, and 39 assists in 64 games. The Downingtown, PA native is eligible for this month’s NHL Draft in New Jersey, and is the 21st rated player in NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings of North American players.
