Spirit visit Otters with new acquisitions in tow
Erie, Penn. – The Saginaw Spirit (9-7-0-1) travel to Pennsylvania to take on the Erie Otters (8-7-3-0) on Friday, November 17th at Erie Insurance Arena. Tonight’s game marks the second contest of a four-game season series.

The Saginaw Spirit escaped Windsor with a victory by a score of 6-5 on November 12th. Dean Loukus walked away with a four-point night (1G, 3A), and Ethan Hay managed his first multi-goal game with the Spirit (2G). Michael Misa scored the game-winner with 9.4 seconds left in the game, and Nolan Lalonde got the victory with 24 saves on 29 shots.
The Erie Otters lost to the Flint Firebirds in overtime, 4-3 on November 11th. Brett Bressette was the first to score followed by Carey Terrance in the second and Sam Alfano in the third. Sam Alfano also walked away with an assist along with Spencer Sova, while Pano Fimis and Malcolm Spence notched a pair of helpers. Ben Gaudreau started in net and made 29 saves on 33 shots on goal.
Last Matchup:
Saginaw lost to Erie by a score of 6-5 earlier this month at the Dow Event Center. Zayne Parekh opened up the game scoring a goal less than one minute into the matchup. A Martin Misiak hat-trick was too much for the Spirit to recover from, despite goals from Calem Mangone, Valentin Zhugin, and Ethan Hay.
Players to Watch:
The Spirit acquired Alex Christopoulos and Rodwin Dionicio on Thursday in a trade with the Windsor Spitfires. Christopoulos (6G, 5A) has a total of 11 points so far this season while Dionicio (5G, 15A) has 20 points, making him second on the team in assists and total points. Hunter Haight (6G, 14A) is tied with Dionicio with total points as well. Zayne Parekh leads the team in points (22) and assists (16). Michael Misa leads the team in goals with nine followed by Matyas Sapovaliv with seven. Andrew Oke leads Saginaw goaltenders with six wins, goals against average (GAA) with a 2.68 and a save percentage (SV%) of .901.
Carey Terrance leads the Otters in points (23) and in goals (13). Malcolm Spence leads the team in assists (15). Martin Misiak is second on the team in goals scored with nine but first in power play goals with five. Ben Gaudreau leads Erie goaltenders with nine wins, a 3.41 GAA and .891 SV%.
