The reigning Memorial Cup Champions will host the Sarnia Sting with puck drop set for 2:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/chl.ca\/ohl\/gamecentre\/29687\/\">Live Stats\u202f<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OHLRangers\">Live Tweets\u202f<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nHEAD-TO-HEAD<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Kitchener Rangers will face off against the Sarnia Sting four times during the regular season. Two matchups at home (Dec. 8th &amp; Mar. 19th) and two matchups on the road (Jan. 13th &amp; Mar. 7th).<\/p>\n<p>Past Years:<br \/>\nLast season, Kitchener held the upper hand in the four-game season series, finishing with a 3-1-0-0 record, with all three wins coming in regulation. The Blueshirts have also found consistent success against Sarnia in recent years, matching last season record during the 2024-25 campaign, also holding a 3-1-0-0 record against the Sting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>RANGERS ROUND UP<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PLAYERS TO LOOK FOR:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alexander Bilecki is as dynamic as they come from the back end. The Rangers will ask Bilecki to carry the offensive load from the blueline this season and he looks poised to do so. Bilecki had an impressive run through the 2026 OHL Playoffs, producing 11 points (2G, 9A) in 18 games, adding another three points (3A) in four games at the Memorial Cup \u2013 including an assist on the opening goal in the championship game.<\/p>\n<p>Ji\u0159\u00ed Gomb\u00e1r was the Kitchener Rangers\u2019 second-round selection (74th overall) in the 2026 CHL Import Draft. Gomb\u00e1r, 17, will have an instant impact on the Rangers blueline adding a mix of offence and strong defence. Gomb\u00e1r has a strong showing at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Alberta this past summer, producing a point-per-game pace (2G, 2A) over four games.<\/p>\n<p>Dmitri Toporowski comes into the season as the lone overage player on the roster. Although new to R-Town, Dmitri is looking to bring a veteran presence to the Rangers\u2019 locker room. He will help stabilize the right-side of the Rangers\u2019 d-core.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nDrafted Rangers:<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Kitchener Rangers have four NHL drafted prospects on their preseason roster. Alexander Bilecki (Toronto Maple Leafs) was selected in the second-round, 60<sup>th<\/sup> overall this past summer, along with newcomer, Charlie Puglisi (Nashville Predators) hearing his name called in the seventh-round, 202<sup>nd<\/sup> overall. Andrew MacNiel (Montreal Canadiens) and Luca Romano (New York Islanders) were both selected in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SCOUTING THE SARNIA STING<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PLAYERS TO LOOK FOR:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alessandro Di Iorio is back for a third season with the Sarnia Sting. Di Iorio is coming off a summer where he was selected in the third-round (94th overall) by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Although only featuring in 45 games last season, Di Iorio improved his point production per game and will be relied upon this season to be a leader in the locker room.<\/p>\n<p>Brenner Lammens, the fourth overall selection in the 2025 OHL Priority Draft had a strong rookie campaign, finishing with 18 points (9G, 9A) in 59 games. Lammens will look to take another step in his sophomore season as his is eligible for the 2027 NHL Entry Draft next June.<\/p>\n<p>For the second-straight season, the Sarnia Sting held the fourth overall selection in the OHL Priority Selection. With the pick in this year\u2019s draft, the Sting selected Anthony Sgro from the Vaughan Kings U16 AAA program. Sgro was the captain of his Vaughan King team and recorded just under a point-per-game as a defenceman. Sgro will look to make an instant impact in his rookie season.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drafted Sting:<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Sarnia Sting roster features two NHL drafted prospects. A forward from Milton, Ontario, Reilly spent last season with the Toronto Marlboros U16 AAA program, where he served as an assistant captain and established himself as one of the top players in his age group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were very excited to select Braden in the first round,\u201d said Kitchener Rangers General Manager Mike McKenzie. \u201cHe is a very talented player that can make plays and also use his shot and skill to put the puck in the net. We feel he has all the tools to be a top player in the age group and look forward to seeing him in a Ranger uniform.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reilly, 16, born on May 12, 2010, is listed at five-foot-eleven and 157 pounds. During the 2025-26 season, he recorded 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points in 30 games with the Toronto Marlboros U16 AAA, while adding two goals and two assists for four points in four OHL Cup games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSigning with Kitchener means so much to me,\u201d said Reilly. \u201cI\u2019m extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a great organization and I can\u2019t wait to get started.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Growing up attending Kitchener Rangers games at The Aud, Reilly now joins the organization he watched as a young fan. The 20-year-old joins the Rangers after spending the 2025-26 season with the Quad City Storm of the SPHL, where he recorded eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in 45 games, along with 102 penalty minutes. He also spent time with the Rochester Jr. Americans (three games) in the NAHL and the Tulsa Oilers (three games) in the ECHL.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDmitri will provide some stability and experience to our defence group,\u201d said Kitchener Rangers General Manager, Mike McKenzie. \u201cHe has had a unique path the last couple years and we think he can help provide some leadership and a solid two-way play to our group. We look forward to welcoming him to Kitchener.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his time in Quad City, Toporowski appeared in the WHL with the Red Deer Rebels during the 2024-25 season, following stops with the La Ronge Ice Wolves and Melfort Mustangs of the SJHL.<\/p>\n<p>Dmitri was drafted in the first round, 21st overall, by the Prince Albert Raiders in the 2021 WHL US Prospect Draft and was also drafted in 2025 by the Rochester Jr. Americans in the sixth round, 199th overall in the NAHL Entry Draft. Dmitri is now the lone overage skater on the Kitchener Rangers roster for the 2026-27 season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an incredible opportunity to join a team that just won the Memorial Cup,\u201d said Dmitri Toroprowski. \u201cThere\u2019s obviously a winning standard in Kitchener, and I\u2019m excited to be part of that. The annual event has proudly supported <a href=\"https:\/\/makeawish.ca\/\">Make-A-Wish Canada<\/a> (formerly Children\u2019s Wish Foundation), raising more than\u00a0<strong>$250,000<\/strong>\u00a0to help grant wishes for children with critical illnesses through Rangers Reach.\u00a0Join us on\u00a0<strong>Sunday, September 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<strong>Parking Lot A at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium<\/strong>\u00a0for this year\u2019s event.<\/p>\n<p>As always, admission to the Fan Fest is free for all fans and will include a number of activities, including inflatable games, rides, an autograph session with Kitchener Rangers players, and, of course, a BBQ! This year, the Memorial Cup and J. Ross Robertson Cup will be in attendance for fans to take photos with and celebrate our Championship season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TICKETS:<\/strong><br \/>\nTickets for all Summer Showcase Games are $5.00 and can be purchased at the doors on the day of the game\/s.\u00a0Proceeds from the games will also directly benefit Make-A-Wish through Rangers Reach. Please see below for the full Summer Showcase schedule.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BBQ:<\/strong><br \/>\nHotdogs, pop, water, chips, and apples will be available for purchase.
