Sam O’Reilly led the way with a four-point night, securing the victory with two empty net goals.

For the first time in this series, the Greyhounds opened the scoring coming just 54 seconds into the game. The Rangers settled in and found the equalizer through Cameron Arquette to level the score after 20 minutes of play. In the second period, Jared Woolley was sprung in for a mini breakaway and was able to squeak the puck through the right arm of Carter George to give the Rangers their first lead on the night. That goal stood as the game winner.

Kitchener learned their lesson from a game ago, not allowing an of space to the Greyhounds, shutting them down in the final frame and limiting them to just four shots. The Blueshirts scored twice in the opening period but were held off the scoresheet for the remaining 40 minutes as the Greyhounds score four unanswered goals to force a Game 5 in Kitchener on Friday night.

Cameron Arquette and Matthew Hlacar chipped in with their first goals on the playoffs to give Kitchener a two-goal advantage after the opening 20 minutes. Neither team found the back of the net in the middle frame holding the 2-0 scoreline into the final period. However, the Greyhounds responded with a strong third period scoring three times in a five minute span to take the lead with just over ten minutes to play in regulation. With the Rangers net empty, Marco Mignosa secured the Hounds victory with an empty net goal.

SCOUTING THE RANGERS (7-1-0-0)

Rangers to Watch:

Cameron Arquette opened the scoring early, giving Kitchener the jump to start the game. He continues to contribute this postseason, now up to three points (1G, 2A) through eight games. In his second OHL playoff run, Arquette is already showing more confidence and impact compared to last year, when he recorded one goal and four assists in 16 games. Arquette has been a driving force on a pesky third line for the Kitchener Rangers that has been a handful for teams to deal with and have made their presence felt this postseason.

Christian Humphreys has been held pointless over the last two games and is destined to breakout in Game 5. Humphreys still leads the way in the points column for the Rangers accumulating eleven points (5G, 6A) in eight games. He will need to be a driver of offence for the Rangers at even strength and with the man advantage where he has six of his eleven points in the playoffs.

Goaltending:

Christian Kirsch

Kirsch suffered his first playoff loss on Thursday night, but still owns an impressive 7-1-0-0 record. Kirsch stood tall in net for Kitchener in Sault Ste. Last year marked his first playoff appearance, where he managed to record an assist, but this time around he’s already far surpassed that mark. He was named the first star of the game for the second consecutive matchup, continuing to drive Kitchener’s offence and stepping up in important moments.

Haeden Ellis scored his third goal of the playoffs to open the scoring for the Blueshirts. All three of his goals have come in this second round series against the Soo Greyhounds, and has opened the scoring in two of the three games. Ellis has added two assists to those three goals, giving him five points thus far, ranking seventh on the team in scoring.

Jack Pridham was a team leader throughout much of the regular season, though his role has slightly shifted in the playoffs. While he remains a key contributor to the overall effort, he now ranks fourth on the team in postseason scoring with 10 points, all coming from assists. The Chicago Blackhawks prospect picked up two helpers on Tuesday and continues to create opportunities for his teammates, though he is still searching for hist first goal of the series.

Goaltending:

Christian Kirsch earned his seventh straight win in his first OHL playoff appearance. The goaltender finished Tuesday’s game with a .857 save percentage and a 3.00 goals-against average, stopping 18-of-21 shots.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS (4-4-0-0)

Greyhounds to Watch:

Brady Martin earned second star honours after recording a multi-point night with a goal and assist. That performance brings his postseason totals to three goals and seven assists. The forward has already appeared in two previous OHL Playoffs, making this his third postseason, with Game 3 being his 25th career playoff appearance. Martin has shown significant progress, already producing nearly twice as many points this postseason compared to his combined totals from the previous two.

Quinn McKenzie scored his fourth goal of the post-season, giving him goals in three straight games. The Greyhound forward has notched six points (4G, 2A) in his first ever OHL playoff run. He also leads the Greyhounds in goals this series.

Chase Reid earned third star recognition following his standout performance on Tuesday. He registered three points (1G, 2A) in Game 3, including a power play goal. Reid now has six points (3G, 3A) in eight playoff appearances, with half of that production coming last game. The defenceman continues to play at an elite level, contributing at both ends of the ice and reinforcing his role as a key piece of the team’s lineup as the series evolves.

Goaltending:
Carter George stopped 20-of-24 shots faced in game three. Marie, Ont. – The Kitchener Rangers defeated the Soo Greyhound by a final score of 4-3 Tuesday night to take a commanding 3-0 series lead and push the Greyhounds to the brink of elimination. After Sam O’Reilly scored three in Game 2, Dylan Edwards played hat trick hero in Game 3 making it back-to-back playoff games with a hat trick for the Blueshirts. Edwards capped off his hat trick with the game winning goal with just over six minutes to play in regulation.

The Rangers opened the scoring for the third-straight game in this series, with Haeden Ellis being the benefactor of a sweet feed from NHL draft eligible defenceman, Alexander Bilecki. Just three minutes after that, the Soo answered with their first equalizer coming at the hands of Quinn McKenzie. Ties entered the first break tied 1-1. Dylan Edwards’ first-of-three was the lone goal of the second period giving the Rangers the lead after 40 minutes of play.

The third period proved to be another entertaining one as the Rangers held the lead on three separate occasions. First, Brady Martin tied the game at 2-2 as a Ranger power play expired. Dylan Edwards got his second goal of the night on the power play to restore the Rangers lead, but the Greyhounds capitalized on a power play of their own to once again tie the game at 3-3. The Rangers didn’t let the game stay tied long as less than a minute later, Dylan Edwards capped off his hat trick performance with a centering pass from behind the net which took a fortuitous bounce off the stick of a Greyhounds defender. It took Kitchener the entire first period to break the deadlock, before Haeden Ellis sparked the offence early in the second, scoring twice within a six-minute span. Quinn McKenzie answered for Soo six minutes into the third period, marking the Greyhounds’ only goal of the game. Sam O’Reilly then sealed the victory for the Rangers with just one second remaining in regulation.

SCOUTING THE RANGERS (5-0-0-0)

Rangers to Watch:

Haeden Ellis led all players in scoring Friday night, delivering another strong performance with two goals in Game 1. Across six playoff games, Ellis has now collected three points (2G, 1A). His efforts earned him first star honours, highlighted by a game-winning goal. The forward is shaping up to be a key contributor as the second round continues and is expected to remain a major factor in Kitchener’s attack.

Alexander Bilecki has also been a standout throughout the postseason. He has tallied six points (1G, 5A) so far, including his fifth assist on Friday night. After being held without a point in his first playoff run last season, Bilecki has taken a significant step forward this year. His playmaking ability has been especially noticeable, and he continues to create opportunities for his teammates while building an impressive postseason campaign.

Goaltending:

Kirsch

In net, Christian Kirsch continues to provide stability and deliver strong results. On Friday, he turned aside 27-of-28 shots, finishing the night with a .964 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average. The Swiss native is now off to a 5-0-0-0 start to his OHL playoff career.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS (4-2-0-0)

Greyhounds to Watch:

Quinn McKenzie was named the second star of the game after scoring the Greyhounds’ lone goal in the matchup. Through six games so far, he has recorded four points (2G, 2A), showing steady offensive contribution. As this marks McKenzie’s first appearance in the OHL Playoffs, those four points carry added significance for the forward as he continues to adjust and make an impact at this level.

Callum Croskery also contributed in Friday’s game, picking up an assist on McKenzie’s goal. With three points so far (1G, 2A), Croskery continues to play an important role on the blue line. While his numbers may not stand out at first glance, his presence has been consistent, and he remains a key piece of the defensive unit. Currently sitting sixth in team scoring, Croskery ranks as the second-most productive defenceman on the roster this postseason and will look to build on that as the series continues.

Goaltending:

George
Between the pipes, Carter George delivered a strong performance, stopping 23 of 25 shots. That effort resulted in a .920 save percentage and a 2.07 goals-against average.
