Rangers sign Forward Cameron Arquette
Kitchener, ON – The Kitchener Rangers announced today that forward Cameron Arquette (pronounced are-kett) has committed to an OHL scholarship and development agreement with the club. He is the seventh player from his 2023 OHL Priority Selection class to sign with the Rangers.
“We are excited to sign Cameron,” said Kitchener Rangers General Manager Mike McKenzie. “He has had a productive year in Leamington so far and continues to improve his game. He has earned this opportunity with his play this year and we look forward to seeing even more growth in his game and eventually develop in a Ranger uniform. Welcome to the Rangers Cameron.”
The Wheatley, Ontario native was drafted by the Rangers in the fourth round, 71st overall in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection. Arquette currently plays for the Leamington Flyers in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) where he has registered seven goals and five assists through his first 19 games played this season. Prior to Leamington, Arquette played much of his minor hockey with the Sun County Panthers organization. In the 2022-23 season, he captained Sun County to their first OHL Cup berth since 2018.
“The organization is great, when I came here for camp I met some great people,” said Cameron Arquette on why he chose to commit to the Rangers.
The 5’8, 165 lbs, centreman left a big impression at both Development and Training camp this summer and has been excelling with the Leamington Flyers to earn an OHL scholarship and development package with the Rangers. Arquette will now be available as an affiliate this season should the Rangers need him.
“I’m working on moving the puck faster and quicker to get to the level of speed of the OHL,” said Arquette.
The Rangers are currently first in the OHL with a 14-5-0-0 record. They will look to extend their five-game win streak on Friday, November 17th at The Aud against the Windsor Spitfires. Don’t miss the action from your first-place Rangers as great seats are still available and can be purchased at The Box Office at The Aud Sponsored by White Way Plumbing or online here.
