SERGEEV SIGNS WITH BLUES

The St. Louis Blues announced today that the team has signed Kitchener Rangers defenceman Dmitrii Sergeev to a National Hockey League contract.

A native of Chelyabinsk, Russia, Sergeev was Kitchener’s first round pick in the 2013 Canadian Hockey League import draft and recorded nine points in 49 games his rookie season. Before joining the Rangers, the 6-foot-2, 198 pound rearguard won a silver medal with Team Russia at the 2013 Under 17 World Hockey Challenge in Quebec, where he recorded one assist and 24 penalty minutes in six games played.

Undrafted, Sergeev was invited to attend St. Louis’ rookie development camp in July 2014.
