Game Preview: Rangers travel to Oshawa to faceoff for the second time this Pre-Season
Oshawa, Ont- The Rangers get set to face Oshawa for the second time this pre-season. Puck drop is slated for 6:05 p.m. Sunday at The Tribute Communities Centre.
Head-to-Head:
The Blueshirts won their first preseason game against the Generals in on September 3rd at The Aud 5-3. Matthew Sop had three points (1G, 2A) and Cameron Reid and Trent Swick tallied two points in the game.
Dating back to the 2016-17 season the Rangers have a 6-4-1-0 record over the Generals. The Rangers hold a 3-2-0-0 record when traveling to Oshawa. The Generals are one and one in the preseason so far. Their win came on September 4th in Peterborough against the Petes.
Scouting the Rangers:
The Kitchener Rangers have three players with a three-game point streak, Carson Rehkopf, Matthew Sop, and Mitchell Martin. Rehkopf, a Seattle Kraken Prospect has six points (2G, 4A), averaging two points a game. Matthew Sop has five points (1G, 4A), and Mitchell Martin has four points (2G, 2A).
Scouting the Generals:
2023 OHL Priority Selection sixth overall pick, Owen Griffen played his first preseason game against Kitchener this past Sunday where he was kept off the scoresheet. The next day against the Peterborough Petes he tallied three points, with two goals and a secondary assist.
In the General’s first two pre-season games, Tyler Graham has scored a goal in both games. New York Rangers prospect Dylan Roobroeck has a goal and assist in his first game of the pre-season.
Next- Up:
The Rangers will play the Mississauga Steelheads at Paramount Fine Foods Centre in the first game of a home-and-home series on Thursday, September 21st. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. The Rangers will then finish the exhibition season at home on Friday, September 22nd at The Aud for a 7:00 p.m. puck drop. Purchase tickets online here.

The Rangers drop the puck on the regular season Friday, September 29 when the East Avenue Blue host the Saginaw Spirit. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. Individual tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online here.
