Rangers complete trade with Saginaw Monday
Kitchener, Ont. – The Kitchener Rangers announced today that the club has completed a trade with the Saginaw Spirit.
In the trade, Kitchener receives North Bay’s second-round pick in the upcoming 2023 OHL Priority Selection. In return, the Rangers trade London’s fifth-round pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection, Sudbury’s fourth-round pick in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection and Mississauga’s fourth-round pick in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection.
“We’re excited to add a second-round pick in this year’s draft as we previously did not have one,” said Kitchener Rangers General Manager Mike McKenzie. “These players that we are selecting this year are going to be the building blocks of our core group that we are going to build around for our potential bid to host the 2026-27 CHL Memorial Cup.”
The 2023 OHL Priority Selection, presented by Real Canadian Superstore, will be held this Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22. The East Avenue Blue will now have two first rounds picks (10th & 11th overall) and one second round pick to start this week’s OHL Draft.
