ROUND TWO, GAME TWO PREVIEW: Kitchener Rangers vs. Windsor Spitfires
Windsor, ON – After dropping Game 1 by a 5-1 score, the Kitchener Rangers look to split their two-game road trip against the Windsor Spitfires with a victory in Game 2 on Saturday. The Blueshirts attempt to even up this second-round series at the WFCU Centre, with the puck drop set for 7:05 p.m.

HEAD-TO-HEAD
Game 1:
After a scoreless opening period in Game 1 on Thursday in Windsor, the Spitfires rallied in the second, striking for three goals — capped off by a power play marker late in the frame. Holding a 3-0 lead heading into the third, Windsor added two more tallies, including their second power play goal at 14:36, to build a commanding 5-0 advantage. Tanner Lam broke the shutout with his third goal of the postseason, scoring on the man advantage to make it 5-1, which held as the final.
SCOUTING THE RANGERS (0-1-0-0)
Rangers to Watch:
Tanner Lam registered the only Rangers goal of the night in Game 1, making it his third consecutive game with a goal in the 2025 OHL Playoffs. With a three-goal total, Lam sits tied for the second most goals among Rangers skaters through six playoff games. The sophomore has stepped up for the Rangers offensively as Kitchener looks to bounce back in the series.
Cameron Reid returned to action for the Rangers on Thursday, picking up a primary assist on the man advantage. Through four playoff appearances this postseason, the sophomore defenceman has two assists. Reid will look to continue to build off his recent success as Kitchener aims to regroup in Game 2.
Goaltending:
Parsons
In net, Jackson Parsons turned aside 17 of 22 shots in Game 1, posting a .772 save percentage in the series opener. Though the Spitfires got the best of him to open the second-round matchup, Parsons has been solid for the Blueshirts with a 4-2-0 record, a 2.15 goals-against average, and a .916 save percentage through six appearances this postseason. Parsons, like the Rangers, is looking for a rebound performance on Saturday.
SCOUTING THE SPITFIRES (1-0-0-0)
Spitfires to Watch:
Liam Greentree played a pivotal role offensively for the Spitfires in Game 1, notching a power play goal and an assist for a two-point night. The Windsor captain has registered at least one point in all six playoff games this postseason, piling up 17 points (8G, 9A) – including seven in his last two outings. If the Rangers hope to even the series, containing Greentree will be a top priority.
Ryan Abraham chipped in with two assists in Windsor’s 5-1 win over Kitchener on Thursday, giving him five points (2G, 3A) over his last two games. In his second OHL postseason, the forward has recorded six points (2G, 4A) through six games, operating at a point-per-game pace. Abraham’s recent surge has added another layer to the Spitfires’ offensive depth, making him a player to watch in Game 2.
Goaltending:
Costanzo
In the crease for Windsor, Joey Costanzo won the goaltending duel in Game 1, making 18 saves while posting a .947 save percentage in the win. In the 2025 OHL Playoffs, Costanzo has an impressive 5-0-1-0 record, a 1.96 goals-against average, and a .919 save percentage. He’ll look to backbone another solid start on Saturday for Game 2.

The entire second-round series vs the Windsor Spitfires will be televised live throughout Kitchener and the Waterloo Region on Rogers TV, cable channel 20, and can be watched across the province of Ontario on the Rogers Super Sports Pak for cable subscribers. The games will also be streamed live online on OHL Live on CHL TV. Additionally, fans can listen to the action on the radio on CityNews 570 AM CKGL as Mike Farwell and Paul Fixter call the games.

Following Saturday’s Game 2, the Rangers will return to the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium for Games 3 and 4 on Monday, April 14th and Wednesday, April 16th. Puck drop on Monday is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
