Return of Frank Hora bolsters back end for Kitchener Rangers
The Kitchener Rangers announced Thursday that overage defenceman Frank Hora has rejoined the club.
The 20-year-old, Cheektowaga, New York native signed a 25-game professional tryout (PTO) agreement with the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League on October 13, 2016 after attending NHL camp with the Monsters’ affiliate club, the Columbus Blue Jackets, prior to this season. Before joining the Blue Jackets as a Free Agent invite, he also attended camp with the Buffalo Sabres.
In three games played with the AHL’s Monsters, Hora registered one assist with an even plus/minus rating and four PIM.
Hora is entering his fourth season with the Rangers after being drafted by the club in the eighth round, 150th overall in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection. In 188 regular season games played, he has registered six goals and 63 assists for 69 points, along with three goals and seven points in 15 career playoff games with the Blueshirts.
His 188 regular season games played ties him for 18th all-time in Rangers’ franchise history among defencemen.
