Rangers Training Camp Report: Intersquad Game 3 Recap
Riley Damiani and Brandon Anderson netted two goals apiece as Team Blue edged Team White 7-6 in the final intersquad game of Rangers Training Camp on Wednesday morning.
Ryan Stepien opened the scoring for Team Blue just 30 seconds into the game before Anderson doubled the lead just three minutes later.
Greg Meireles tallied the first of his three goals to pull Team White back within one with 7:55 to go in the opening frame, but Declan McDonnell and Damiani boosted the Team Blue advantage to 4-1 before the end of the period.
Team White recorded three of the next four goals to get within one at 5-4, thanks to Meireles netting a pair and Mitchell Martin finding the back of the net.
That’s as close as they would get though as the teams got two goals each before the end of regulation; Mike Petizian and Damiani (with his third) for Team Blue, Donovan Sebrango and Jonathan Yantsis for Team White.
Action returns to The Aud on Friday when the puck drops on the Kitchener Rangers Preseason Showcase featuring the Rangers, North Bay Battalion, Saginaw Spirit, and Peterborough Petes. For more information, including how to purchase tickets, click here.
