Rangers trade Jake Henderson to North Bay Battalion
The Kitchener Rangers announced today they have traded winger Jake Henderson to the North Bay Battalion.
The Battalion will also receive a 10th round pick (KIT) in 2021. In exchange, the Rangers will receive an 8th round pick (NB) in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection.
The 20-year-old, St. Louis, MO native is in his third Ontario Hockey League season – all with the Rangers – having dressed in 172 career regular season and playoff games combined, totaling 20 goals and 42 assists for 62 points with a plus/minus of +25 with 104 PIMs.
Jake was immensely popular among the fans and his teammates, proven by his winning the Most Popular Player Award during the Rangers’ Awards Ceremony following the 2016-17 season, as voted on by his teammates.
“Jake has been a heart and soul player for us and will be missed in Kitchener on and off the ice,” said general manager Mike McKenzie. “The travelling Hendo Fan Club will also be missed at road games and the team appreciates the support they have shown us throughout the years. We wish Jake best of luck in North Bay.”
