The Cowboy Rides Again: Kitchener Rangers Bring Back Iconic Tex Jersey
KITCHENER, ON – The cowboy is back.
The Kitchener Rangers are bringing a piece of team history back to The Aud with the return of the iconic Tex jersey, which will serve as the club’s second alternate jersey for the 2026-27 season.
The Rangers will debut the throwback look on Sunday, September 27 at 6 p.m. against the Kingston Frontenacs, marking the first of seven home games in which the jersey will be worn this season.
Featuring one of the most recognizable looks from Rangers history, the jersey showcases the classic cowboy Tex crest that served as the club’s primary logo from 1992 to 1995. The design made a brief return during the Rangers’ 60th anniversary season in 2023, when the club brought the jersey back for a special Fan Appreciation Game. Prior to that appearance, the iconic look had not been worn by the Rangers since the mid-1990s.
Now, Tex is officially riding again.
Second Alternate Jersey Schedule
The Rangers will wear the Tex jersey at The Aud seven times during the 2026-27 regular season:
Sunday, September 27 vs. Kingston
Friday, October 23 vs. Guelph
Sunday, November 15 vs. Ottawa
Friday, December 4 vs. Owen Sound
Sunday, January 17 vs. Sault Ste. Marie
Sunday, January 31 vs. Sault Ste. Marie
Friday, March 19 vs. Sarnia
The Tex Collection
Fans will also have the opportunity to bring the throwback look home. Beginning Sunday, September 27, the new second alternate jerseys and accompanying Tex Collection will be available to shop in person at Rangers Authentics at The Aud. Fans must have a game ticket to enter the store.
The collection will then become available online beginning Monday, September 28, while supplies last.*
From a defining Rangers look of the early 1990s, to its one-night return during the club’s 60th season, Tex has remained a memorable piece of Kitchener Rangers history.
This season, it’s more than a throwback.
