Mitchell Martin signs OHL Standard Player Agreement
The Kitchener Rangers have announced that left-winger Mitchell Martin has committed to an Ontario Hockey League standard player agreement with the club.
The 17 year-old from Sudbury was a fourth round pick (81st overall) by the Rangers in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. Since attending Rangers training camp before the start of the season, the 6’3″, 185lb forward has played in 47 games for the Rayside-Balfour Canadians of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL).
Martin currently leads the team with 54 points while his 21 goals and 33 assists rank fourth and second on the team, respectively.
“We are excited to welcome Mitchell to the Rangers family. He has had a very good year and has shown he is ready to make the jump to the OHL next season,” said Rangers general manager and interim head coach Mike McKenzie.
“He is a big, strong, and tough player that also has very good skills and offensive ability. He will fit well with our already strong group of young players.”
