Michael Vukojevic NHL Combine Q&A
The 2019 NHL Scouting Combine wrapped up on Saturday, and Michael Vukojevic and the other draft-eligible players look ahead to the big day—The 2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver. The Combine was the latest opportunity for NHL clubs to take a look at the up and comers before the draft. Michael took advantage of this opportunity to showcase his strength and capabilities.
Q. Now that you’re home from the Combine, what was your experience like?
A. My experience was amazing. Being selected to participate was so special to me, and meeting with teams and their management was incredible. It was good to have the chance to have professional conversations before the draft at the end of the month and to leave one last good impression.
Q. What did you learn throughout your time at the event?
A. I learned a lot about who I am, more than I did before. I had honest talks about myself, which isn’t something I usually do. It helped me learn about who I am as a person.
Q. What was your favourite moment?
A. My favourite moment was when the wingate was over, having to push 100% for 30 straight seconds was brutal, but then when I got off the bike and headed to the recovery room it was such a relief. It felt so good.
Q. For readers who don’t know, can you explain what the wingate test consists of?
A. You get on the bike and the trainers crank up the resistance and then for 30 seconds you have to push as hard as you can.
Q. Up next is the NHL Draft, how are you feeling about that?
A. I’m feeling good, confident, and counting down the days. I can’t wait to get to Vancouver and have the chance to be drafted by an NHL team.
Q. Lastly, what would you say to Rangers Nation to look forward to for next season?
A. I would say get excited for a long and successful year because we are excited and can’t wait to get back to The Aud and perform for our amazing fans!
