Luke Richardson named OHL Midwest Division Academic Player of the Month for January
Kitchener Rangers goaltender Luke Richardson is the Midwest Division Academic Player of the Month for January. The 17-year-old Barrie, ON native is studying International Business, Business Management and Earth and Space Sciences at Grand River Collegiate in Kitchener.
“Luke has impressed us immensely with his ability to dedicate exceptional attention to detail in both his schooling and his level of play,” said Rangers’ general manager Murray Hiebert.
“Luke interacts well with his peers in the classroom and on the ice, and we are extremely proud of the success he is obtaining as he effectively balances both school and major junior hockey.”
In his first full-time season with the Rangers, Richardson has a 4-0-0-0 record with a 2.96 GAA and .917 save percentage. He was the 4th round (79th overall) pick of the Rangers in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.
