Kitchener Rangers Announce Multi-Million Dollar Renovation Project Led by Woodhouse Group
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kitchener, ON – The Kitchener Rangers are proud to announce a major renovation project that will enhance the team’s dressing room, player lounge, and business offices at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium. With an investment exceeding two million dollars, this ambitious upgrade project will be led by the Woodhouse Group, a recognized leader in premium facility construction and design.
“This is a very exciting project for our organization,” said Mike McKenzie, General Manager of the Kitchener Rangers. “We already had top-in-class facilities but the commitment to make them even better will give our staff and players the best possible environment to improve and develop. The junior hockey landscape has changed significantly in the last year but what hasn’t changed is our commitment to A+ treatment of our players and staff. This is another example of this commitment, and we are excited to see the finished product.”
The project, already underway, marks the first major upgrade to the team’s core facilities in over a decade.
“The Kitchener Rangers 2025 enhancement project is an exciting endeavor that will return our team facilities to the class of the CHL,” said Jeff Emrich, President of the Kitchener Rangers Board of Directors. “It has been 13 years since the last major upgrades that have stood their time. Our board has confidence in the vision Joe and staff have put into this. We thank the City of Kitchener for continuing to host the hockey club in the cathedral of junior hockey, the Memorial Auditorium.”
The renovated spaces will feature modernized amenities, improved workflow areas for team staff, and a reimagined environment that supports the mental and physical development of Rangers players.
“On behalf of the entire organization, I would like to extend our gratitude to the Rangers board for their support of our investment in the renovation of our dressing room and business offices,” said Rangers Chief Operating Officer, Joe Birch. “This significant upgrade not only enhances our daily environment but also provides the best-in-class amenities for our players and staff to thrive in. The commitment to these enhancements will ensure our organization remains an elite program within the CHL for years to come.”
Construction is expected to be completed ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Changes to Business Office:
Access to the Kitchener Rangers business offices to the general public will now be through Door 21. Located on the third floor, the front desk is accessible using either the elevator or stairs. There will be no changes to business operating hours.
During the renovations, the temporary location of the business offices is being moved to Rangers Authentics – which can be accessed by the same elevator and staircase at Door 21 and exiting at the lower concourse level.
The Don Cameron Media room, accessible to accredited media, scouts, league officials, and staff will permanently move to the Subscribers Lounge as it was to close out this season. Renovations will also take place in the Subscribers Lounge in a joint effort with the City of Kitchener to create an improved and enhanced space.
