12 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE TONIGHT’S GAME

1) Tonight marks the third of four meetings this season between the Sarnia Sting and Kitchener Rangers. The two teams met here one week ago with the Rangers skating to their second win this season over the Sting, 6-3.
2) The Rangers are coming off a 5-4, come-from-behind OT win over the Guelph Storm on Sunday where they scored two goals with 1:13 remaining in play, both with the goaltender pulled, just 23 seconds apart. Joseph Garreffa scored his second OT winner in just over a week to seal the victory.
3) The Sting trailed 3-0 and 4-2 in the third period in their most recent game on Sunday vs. the Owen Sound Attack, but ultimately used four third period goals – including one on a penalty shot and one with 48 seconds remaining – to tie the game at 4-4 before Jordan Kyrou scored 17 seconds into OT.
4) Sarnia’s Jordan Kyrou sits tied for first overall in league scoring with 105 points (35G, 69A). Kitchener’s Adam Mascherin has jumped to 7th with 38 goals and 42 assists for 80 points.
5) Cam Dineen sits fourth overall in league scoring by defencemen with 61 points (20G, 41A) in 61 games.
6) Kitchener’s Connor Bunnaman is currently riding a five-game goal scoring streak (5G, 2A = 7Pts) dating back to February 23.
7) The Sting are 20-7-3-1 on the road this season while the Rangers are 20-9-1-0 at The Aud.
8) The Sting have boasted higher offensive production this season, notching 283 goals in 63 games while the Rangers have scored 226 goals in one fewer game played.
9) The Sting have trailed after two periods of play 14 times this season, winning once. The Rangers have trailed after two periods 20 times this season but have come back to win six of those games.
10) The Kitchener Rangers home power play is 6th in the OHL, executing at a 24.5% efficiency (25-for-102). Their home penalty kill is 9th overall at 79.6% (82-for-103).
