12 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE TONIGHT’S GAME

1) Tonight marks the first of two meetings this season between the Peterborough Petes and Kitchener Rangers. The next meeting between the two teams is January 1 at the PMC.
2) The Rangers are on an eight-game point streak, collecting 15 of a possible 16 points. They are coming off a 3-1 road win over the Barrie Colts in a game which was nationally televised on Sportsnet yesterday.
3) The Petes have dropped four of their last five games, including back-to-back games against East Division opponents, the Hamilton Bulldogs and Ottawa 67’s, earlier this week. They managed to score just one goal in those two games.
4) Peterborough saw the return of Logan DeNoble and Zach Gallant to the lineup on Thursday after missing five and six games, respectively.
5) Petes’ Nikita Korostolev has eight goals and 15 points in 13 career games vs. the Rangers. Jonathan Ang has never tallied a point in his six career games against Kitchener.
6) The Kitchener Rangers home power play sits 5th in the OHL, executing at an 23.9% efficiency (11-for-46). Their home penalty kill is 13th overall at 77.4% (41-for-53).
7) The Peterborough road power play ranks 13th at 18.0% (9-for-50), while their road penalty kill is ranked 10th at 79.7%
(47-for-59).
8) Petes’ Jonathan Ang sits eighth in league scoring with 12 goals and 30 points in 22 games. He signed his entry level contract with the Florida Panthers earlier this week after being drafted by the club in the fourth round, 94th overall in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
9) Rangers’ captain Connor Bunnaman enters tonight’s game having scored seven goals in his last seven games.
10) Rangers’ Kole Sherwood is on a four-game goal streak, tallying six goals and seven total points in those four games.
11) The Peterborough Petes are an impressive 9-3-0-0 at the PMC, but have struggled on the road with a 3-7-0-1 record. The Kitchener Rangers have mirrored 7-3-1-0 records at home and on the road.
12) The Rangers are 9-0-0-0 when leading after the first period, and 10-1-0-0 when leading after two. The Petes are
8-0-0-0 when leading through the first period of play and 8-0-0-1 when leading after the second.
