12 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE TONIGHT’S GAME

1) Today marks the third meeting already this season between the Kitchener Rangers and the Owen Sound Attack. The Rangers are 1-0-1-0 vs. the Attack in those first two games.
2) Tonight’s game will decide the lead in the Midwest Division. The Rangers (15) currently lead the Attack (14) by one point in the standings, the Rangers sitting second in the conference and the Attack sitting fifth.
3) Attack forward Nick Suzuki is currently riding a nine-game point streak, the longest active in the OHL. He has tallied eight goals and 21 points over the course of those nine games.
4) Rangers’ goaltender Chris McGonigle makes his return tonight, dressing as backup to starter Luke Richardson. He last saw game action almost exactly one year ago, October 28, 2016, when he picked up his first career OHL win – and first career OHL shutout – making 32 saves vs. the Peterborough Petes.
5) Anthony Dumont-Bouchard remains out of the lineup for tonight’s game with an upper body injury.
6) Each team comes into tonight’s game having dropped their previous two games.
7) The Kitchener Rangers home power play has dipped to 11th in the OHL, executing at a 16% efficiency (4-for-25). Their home penalty kill is 15th overall at 75% (21-for-28).
8) The Owen Sound road power play ranks 2nd in the league at 26.3% (5-for-19), while their road penalty kill is also ranked 2nd at 92% (23-for-25). Only the Rangers’ road penalty kill is better, ranked 1st in the league at 93.3% (28-for-30).
9) The Attack boast three players in the Top-10 of OHL scoring: Nick Suzuki (1st, 11 GP=23 Points), Sean Durzi (4th, 11 GP=20 Points), and Kevin Hancock (9th, 11 GP=17 Points).
10) The Rangers have tomorrow off before rounding out their home weekend vs. the North Bay Battalion on Sunday afternoon at 2pm.
11) The Attack are just beginning a three-in-three weekend which sees them return home tomorrow to host the Battalion at 7:30pm, then welcome the Windsor Spitfires to town on Sunday afternoon at 2pm.
12) Rangers’ defenceman Logan Stanley leads Kitchener in points vs. Owen Sound this season with one goal, two assists.
